Yuhua Zhu

Yuhua Zhu joined the UCLA Statistics & Data Science Department as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in fall 2024. Previously, she was an assistant professor at UC San Diego, where she held a joint appointment in the Halicioğlu Data Science Institute (HDSI) and the Department of Mathematics. Before that, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford University and earned her Ph.D. from UW-Madison. Her work bridges the gap between partial differential equations and machine learning, with a focus on reinforcement learning, stochastic optimization, and generative modeling.
