ONYAMBU SAMUEL EARNED HIS PH.D. IN STATISTICS from UCLA in 2024 and is currently part of the UCLA Department of Statistics and Data Science. His research focuses on metaheuristic optimization methods and experimental design, with applications in data science, machine learning, and scene understanding. During his doctoral studies, he developed a strong interest in scientific computing and algorithmic efficiency, and he remains passionate about integrating modern computational tools into the statistics curriculum. He enjoys teaching UCLA’s bright and curious students and contributing to the department’s vibrant academic community. In his free time, he enjoys thoughtful conversations, supporting his community, and spending time outdoors.
