MASDS Highlights

We are proud to announce that the Master of Applied Statistics & Data Science (MASDS) program welcomed its ninth cohort in Fall 2024, bringing in a new class of 50 graduate students. Since the program’s inception in 2016, approximately 162 students have successfully graduated, with an additional 31 or more expected to earn their degrees this coming June.

This year, we were excited to collaborate with several outstanding partners, including Evitarus, OWASP, Ernst & Young, LLC, and Auto Unify. The MASDS program remains committed to expanding partnerships with organizations throughout the greater Los Angeles area and within the UCLA community. We invite companies interested in collaborating with our students or referring employees to our program to connect with us.

In line with our commitment to student leadership, we will once again offer selected students the opportunity to serve as MASDS Student Ambassadors beginning this summer.

Our annual MASDS Town Hall Meeting—an important forum for students to share feedback with the department—was once again well-attended. At this year’s advisory board meeting, information session, and networking mixer, we expressed our sincere gratitude to our partners: Ernst & Young, LLC, Kukuyeva Consulting, Latino Donor Collaborative, OWASP, Vetology, The Veloz Group, and Wager Wire, for their continued support of our students.

We deeply value the ongoing engagement of our industry partners, students, alumni, and colleagues as we continue to evolve and strengthen the MASDS program.

Lastly, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported me in my role as Graduate Advisor to the MASDS program over the years. I look forward to discovering even more ways we can elevate and grow this exceptional program.
