The following include some of the activities of Mahtash Esfandiairi, PhD during the 24-25 academic year.
- Invitation by the Dean of Physical Science to participate in a workshop entitled “UCLA/HHMI (Howard Hughes Medical Institute) for Inclusive Education” from Thursday, February 15th through noon, Saturday, February 17th, 2024.
- Gave a talk via zoom on “Ethics of Educational Research” in the 6th World Congress of Education 2024 (WCE 2024) held in Singapore.
- Made a presentation in the Statistics Seminar Series, October 31st, 2024 with Dr. Ariana Anderson and Wenhong Sun, Senior UCLA Department of Statistics and Data Science Topic: “How to be a good and a bad statistician: Ethical considerations in model construction?
- Taught a workshop on “Power and Sample Size Determination” at the American Statistical Association held in Los Angeles May 17th, 2025.
- Was a “Statistics Mentor” to junior psychiatrist who presented their research proposals at the American Statistical Association conference (May 18th 2025)
- Made a presentation at the IMPACT Symposium on February 24th 2025. Title: “The Role of Sense of Belonging and high school preparation for STEM on Perception of Academic Success, Stress, and Exclusion for STEM majors who are first generation or transfer from community college”
- Invited to give a talk as a distinguished speaker in the 7th World Congress of Education 2025 (WCE 2025), scheduled to take place from November 11th to 13th, 2025, in Osaka, Japan.
